Afterschool STEAM University (ASU) at the Kroc Center provides a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children ages 5 to 11 after school. Students enjoy a nutritious snack, dedicated homework time, and the chance to build friendships while participating in a wide range of activities and classes. These include reading club, character development, art, music, theatre, creative writing, STEM, outdoor play, rock climbing, swimming, and more.
Additionally, families interested in academic support can access research-based, small-group reading tutoring from Next Step Learning and math and reading tutoring from TutorND. These programs provide targeted support to help students build confidence and strengthen their skills.
Available all days SBCSC Schools are in session, 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm.

HOMESCHOOL STEAM UNIVERSITY
The Kroc Center’s Homeschool STEAM University (HSU) returns this spring with a full-day enrichment program designed to challenge, inspire, and support homeschool learners. Running Wednesdays from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, HSU offers a structured, 5-hour learning experience where students rotate through hands-on classes in science, technology, the arts, movement, and social development.
This spring, classes are organized into three age groups 5–8, 9–12, and 13–15 each with its own thoughtfully designed schedule and specialized instructors.
Ages 5–8 Classes
Messy Science, Math Boosters, Recycled Art & Eco-Crafts, Intro to Ballet, Creative Movement & Storytelling, Hip-hop Dance, Urban Gardening, Athletics, Mini Melodies, Character Development
Ages 9–12 Classes
Outdoor Activities, Intro to Photography, Spoken Word & Poetry Slam, Storytellers on Stage, Makerspace, Athletics, Hip-hop Dance, Ballet, Urban Gardening, Video Game Creation.
Ages 13–15 Classes
Community Project Lab, Youth Debate & Social Impact, Band, Photography, Urban Gardening, Video Game Creation, Athletics, 2D Visual Arts, Hip-hop Dance, Culinary Arts.
Throughout the day, students engage in a balance of STEAM learning, creative expression, physical activity, and collaborative experiences. Our instructors bring expertise across arts, sciences, and youth development, fostering an environment where homeschool students can build confidence, friendships, and real-world skills.
We proudly accept Braintree and Indiana ESA (Education Scholarship Account) payments for families using state-supported education funding.

Give your child an unforgettable school-year experience at Kroc Center Day Camp! Our camp is the perfect mix of learning, fun, and adventure, featuring music and dance classes, swimming, outdoor play, and rock climbing. Video Game Creation
Level up your creativity by designing and building your own video games! Students will explore game design concepts, create characters, develop storylines, and bring their ideas to life using kid-friendly coding and design tools. They’ll learn problem-solving, logic, and digital art skills all while having fun creating playable games to share with friends and family.

Introduction to LEGO Robotics
Build, code, and create with LEGO Robotics! This 10-week evening class introduces students to the fundamentals of robotics using LEGO Education kits. Students will work in pairs to design, build, and program their own robots to complete exciting engineering challenges.
